Atmospheric Perspective is rooted in my connection to Latvia and the time I spent here through spring and summer, surrounded by its changing landscape.
The series grew from the experience of being immersed in a place that is familiar to me, yet continually changing. It is an exploration of atmosphere, memory and the impressions that remain from time spent within a landscape. Rather than depicting a particular place or landscape, I work from what I experience and remember — translating these impressions through colour, texture, depth and layers of material.
The works move between subtle and more pronounced shifts in colour and surface, allowing each piece to develop its own character. I am interested in how an environment can stay with us beyond the moment itself, through fragments of memory, sensation and feeling.
